President Trump Day One

Sworn In and Promise Kept

Approximately eight hours after being sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, President Donald Trump kept his promise and signed on Day One an executive order allowing the federal government to start dismantling the Affordable Care Act, aka, "Obamacare".

Although the (initial) order offers few specifics, it does state in a few paragraphs, that agencies affected by Obamacare (ACA) now have the authority to waive or delay implementation of any part of the law that would impose a fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, insurers, drug companies, etc.

It also promotes the creation of a system to allow the sale of insurance across state lines, something Republicans and other conservatives believe will increase competition in the health care market and vastly REDUCE health care cost.

The biggest effect of this executive order could be waivers from Obamacare's (ACA) individual mandate which up till now carried a $2,500.00 penalty for individuals not covered by health insurance.

It also directs federal agencies to start taking steps to use their administrative authority to begin DISMANTLING Obamacare (ACA) in a variety of ways. This could include things like not enforcing the employer mandate, and cutting taxes that were imposed.

The bottom line, (although not complete), President Trump has already begun to keep his promises. Thank you Mr. President.
