Americans return to space from the U.S.A

NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken launched successfully from Kennedy Space Center’s launch pad 39A, at 3:22 p.m. EDT on Saturday, May 31st, 2020.

It was the first manned space flight from U.S. soil in an American space craft since 2011 and the first manned space flight ever in a U.S. commercially built and operated American SpaceX space craft; in other words, this was not a NASA owned and operated vehicle.

The vehicles utilized were completely designed and built by SpaceX right here in the United States.

The booster was a reusable Falcon 9 rocket with a Crew Dragon manned capsule carrying the two astronauts riding on top to the International Space Station.

NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken arrived safely at the ISS Sunday morning at 9:16 am CST; the current plan involves the astronauts return to Earth in approximately 6 weeks.
